ABOUT STANFORD

"Build the business, step by step, on a firm foundation of hard work, clear vision and value for the client." — Lodis B. Stanford, founder

The Stanford tradition dates back to 1932, when Lodis B. Stanford started Stanford Insurance Company in the small Central Texas town of Mexia in the midst of the Great Depression. Although it was a time of hardship and adversity, Lodis Stanford forged ahead with a clear vision and dedication that would become the hallmarks of Stanford today. His unwavering determination allowed him to provide his clients with the highest level of service and integrity. As a result, the company not only survived, but prospered, growing step by step from that first firm foundation based on hard work, clear vision and value for the client.

More than 75 years later, Stanford continues this tradition as a third-generation family business under the leadership of its CEO and Chairman, Sir Allen Stanford. The company has expanded into a global network of companies focused on delivering the highest level of service in the financial services industry. With over 50 offices operating throughout North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe, the Stanford Financial Group of affiliated companies remains steadfastly committed to the core principles on which the first Stanford company was founded.
